Will my outside antenna give me HD signal for my HDTV? - outside antenna

I recently purchased an HDTV and want the local HD channels from my outside antenna. I have this antenna for several years and remains connected to some other TVs in the house. My new HDTV is the only one in my house, so my question is - which received my "normal" working external antenna to local channels in HD on your HDTV? I tried the indoor antenna and had big problems with the signal.
